Weather here annoys me and scares me. With crap like the May 3rd, 1999 tornado and now the May 8 & 9, 2003 tornados, is it any wonder why I'm glued to www.noaa.gov whenever I hear thunder? I remember when Mel and I were just about to head over ot Best Buy in OKC on 5/3/99, instead I felt lazy and didn't want to drive all the over there, opting for the local Office Max for techie toy shopping (poor excuse, I know). Had we went, given the timing of it all, we would have either been in and taken away by the tornado, affected somehow by all the debris, or at the very least, trapped in southern OKC. Instead, we were safely in the dorm towers at OU, each of which had a huge basement for such occasions, and if I recall, 3 3-floor units of the 12 floor towers were designed to tear off in a tornado to relieve the stress on the lower levels. Eerie.

NOAA's site is a bookmarked, daily stop for me now. I know way too much about weather for a layman...

Back to working at work from home on my l4m3 VPN link. PPTP just doesn't sit well with me...
