Cautious Optimism

Couldn't sleep well last night, nervous about the interview. Spent all morning at work researching interviewing standpoints. I didn't want to cram any last details in my head. There was a great Slasdot thread devoted entirely on how to interview a sysadmin (over here). It had some great tips for the interviewers, and by corollary, for the interviewee.

I arrived at Olive Garden about 15 minutes early (and left the office 30 minutes early; the waiting was too much) and met the interviewer. Although I've met him before, I'd not got to really talk to him until then. He was very amiable, and the questions were a good balance of breadth and depth. He also allowed me to recount my experiences with certain situations and technologies, in lieu of just specific questions.

The experience was very positive and comfortable and we related about many things. On top of it all, if hired, I would not only work under him, but I'd work at OU!! I don't want to jinx anything, so I will remain cautiously optimistic.
