Dallas, part 2

Never ever use the words "Fear Uncertainty and Doubt" with anyone who reads Slashdot. Especially in an encouraging way. Thank you Sun marketroid, you made my day :-P

The first day of class was insightful. In that I got to see the dark side of internal/partner sales training: destroy the competition. Why can't selling be about focusing on your product's benefits without resorting to mud-slinging and scare tactics. It's like running for governor or something...

Other little stories abound but I'll not get into them. Class was let out early and my cousin came over from downtown to pick me up. We had pizza and a few 'pints' (happy hour pints are 23oz :) at the Flying Saucer. That place has over 100 beers on tap, hundreds more in bottles; I got to try some interesting brews and found out I really like IPA.

After that, we cavorted around Greenville, which is a typical college village, attached to SMU. Great little area, there's a place called The Cavern that had more couch space than stool/chair space. All black walls/floors/cielings and candles; really laid back and low key. Hurricane Grill is a typical sports pub/greek hangout. But hey, $1 pints of Coors!

Getting ready for another day... it's nice to be able to not pick up after yourself now and then. After class today, the guys (coworkers) and I are going to find the new Fry's and I'm going ot push for the Apple store around here as well. Mmmmmm, new G5...
